NEW YORK — The suspect wanted for pushing his estranged girlfriend and her infant daughter off their 15th-floor Bronx balcony, killing the woman, has been arrested — after his brother alerted cops the suspect was hiding out in the brother’s home, police said Thursday.

Angel Carrasco, 31, is accused of killing 23-year-old Nathaly Ramirez, who somehow held onto and shielded her 8-month-old daughter just enough that the infant survived the plunge.

After cops released a wanted poster Wednesday calling Carrasco armed and dangerous and asked the public’s help locating him, his brother turned up at the 49th Precinct stationhouse, police sources said. The brother told cops Carrasco was hiding out in the brother’s Bronx home and cops raced there and nabbed him.

The shocking slaying, the climax to an acrimonious relationship, happened 3:38 a.m. Tuesday shortly after Carrasco and Ramirez were heard arguing loudly in her Allerton apartment on Olinville Ave. near Allerton Ave.

“They were both on the terrace,” said Nancy Morales, 69, who lives on the 16th floor. “She was holding the baby. She told him to leave her alone. She was telling him, ‘Stop! You’re scaring the baby!’

“He said, ‘You want me to do it? You want me to do it?’”

Officers who raced to the scene after Ramirez and her daughter were thrown off the balcony rushed the baby to Jacobi Medical Center. The baby was in critical condition but her condition has since been upgraded to stable.

Medics rushed her mom to the same hospital but she could not be saved.

Ramirez went to Bronx Leadership Academy before studying psychology at Baruch College, according to her LinkedIn page. She also interned at Lishawn’s Consulting, a Brooklyn-based business management consulting company.

But she had an acrimonious relationship with Carrasco.

He was twice arrested in January following confrontations with Ramirez, police said.

On Jan. 5, he was charged with misdemeanor assault for allegedly slapping Ramirez, police said.

A second arrest, three days later, has since been sealed but also resulted in his arrest. The charged he faced are not clear.

Morales recalled overhearing Ramirez on the phone in January confiding in someone about her troubled relationship.

“She wanted to get away from here — she wanted to get away from him,” Morales said. “She said, ‘I can’t take it anymore.’”
