Lindsay Clancy's ex-husband Patrick sues medical providers who treated her
Published in News & Features
Patrick Clancy filed a wrongful death suit against a psychiatrist and a nurse practitioner who treated his ex-wife Lindsay before she allegedly killed the couple’s three children.
Lawyers representing Dr. Jennifer Tufts and Rebecca Jollotta want the case dropped. The litigants and their attorneys were in a Massachusetts court on Wednesday. A judge is weighing the information he heard from both sides, according to People.
A jury failed to reach a unanimous decision on whether Lindsay murdered Cora, 5, Dawson, 3, and Callan, 8 months old, at her criminal trial, which ended in September. The court heard testimony about the defendant’s mental health at the time the children were found strangled in the Clancys’ Massachusetts home in January 2023. Her lawyers argued their client’s compromised state of mind absolved her from criminal culpability.
Lawyers representing Patrick Clancy told the judge in his civil case against Lindsay’s medical providers that the children’s father expects his ex-wife to participate in that hearing after her criminal case is resolved. It’s not clear if Massachusetts prosecutors will try her for murder again.
People reports that Lindsay is also suing several of her healthcare providers. Her lawyers contend that physicians who treated the 36-year-old former labor and delivery nurse failed to properly diagnose the “problems she was having” prior to her children’s deaths.
Patrick divorced Lindsay in February 2024. He married again in 2026 and relocated to New York City. The 38-year-old software specialist isn’t accused of any wrongdoing.
Lindsay remains housed at the Tewksbury Hospital, which specializes in treating people with mental illness.
