Maya Hawke has landed her first TV role since Stranger Things ended.

The 27-year-old actress - who played Robin Buckley in the hit sci-fi series - has been cast alongside Kerry Condon in Netflix's haunting new drama The God of the Woods.

The upcoming show, which is based on Liz Moore's 2024 novel of the same name, stars Maya as Judy Luptack, the first female investigator in the male-dominated Bureau of Criminal Investigation.

She is tasked with looking into the mysterious disappearance of a 13-year-old girl from a summer camp.

Condon, who has appeared in F1 and Train Dreams, will play the teen's mother, Alice Van Laar.

Moore is serving as co-showrunner, writer and executive producer alongside Liz Hannah.

The pair said in a joint statement: "We love making TV and can't wait to bring The God of the Woods to life with our partners at Sony and Netflix.

"We hope everyone falls in love (and hate) with these characters as much as we have."

Netflix noted there is currently no release date for The God of the Woods, but more details will follow.

They teased: "Based on The New York Times bestselling novel, The God of the Woods is a multigenerational drama series set in the Adirondacks.

"It explores the Van Laar family's dark secrets, class tensions, and the mysterious disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from her family's summer camp -- in the wake of an earlier family tragedy that may be related. "As the past and present collide, the Van Laars' wealth and influence unravel, revealing the damaging consequences of privilege and the abuse of power."

Maya spent six years on Stranger Things, appearing in a main role in the third, fourth and fifth season.

This year, she is set to star in movies Wishful Thinking, One Night Only and The Hunger Games: Sunrise on the Reaping.

However, The God of the Woods is her first major TV role to be announced after Stranger Things ended with its final episode on December 31, 2025.
