Rapper Offset takes the stage in a wheelchair days after being shot

Rapper Offset teased fans by taking the stage in a wheelchair, which he quickly ditched at the start of his weekend show at the University of Arkansas’ Rowfest.
The 34-year-old “Ya Digg?” singer was shot April 6 outside the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood, Florida, according to Rolling Stone. That didn’t stop him from performing a Saturday night show that started with the performer being rolled out in a wheelchair before rising to his feet and kicking off his concert.
Offset posted video of his dramatic entrance on Instagram.
“Real Love,” he captioned that clip.
An Offset spokesperson reportedly confirmed the rapper, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, was “stable and being closely monitored” following his being shot last week.
Little information has been provided with regards to the gunplay. Rapper Lil Tjay was reportedly arrested for disorderly conduct possibly connected to the case, but hasn’t been charged in the shooting. He denies firing the shot that wounded Offset. The pair has since traded insults on social media.
Offset is a former member of the hip-hop trio Migos. His bandmate Takeoff was fatally shot in Houston in 2022. He’s been in the process of divorcing pop star Cardi B since 2024.
His Saturday night appearance was reminiscent of when Nirvana singer Kurt Cobain, amid rumors of bad health and drug problems, kicked off his band’s performance at the 1992 Reading Festival by taking the stage in a wheelchair.
