Victoria Beckham has warned that her song with son Cruz is "not going to see the light of day".

The 52-year-old pop star turned fashion icon joined her 21-year-old son during a studio session last month, as he shared a photo of his famous mother at the microphone with lyrics up on her phone.

Appearing on Today with Jenna and Sheinelle, she said: "I mean, I just can't say no to Cruz. I just can't say no.

"He was in the studio, and he said, 'Mum, can you put some backing vocals down?' And I can't say no, so I did as a little bit of fun.

"I'm sure that song is not going to see the light of day. That was just me being a mom saying, 'I can't say no to my… my little boy.' Well, he's 21 years old."

Victoria - who has kids Brooklyn, 27, Romeo, 24, Cruz, and Harper, 15, with husband Sir David Beckham - joined the Spice Girls at the closing ceremony for the 2012 London Olympics, but was absent from their reunion tour across the UK in 2019.

The former Posh Spice added: "There's no new music. There is no more Spice Girls... I passed that baton over to Cruz."

While teasing that she's "still got it", described her collaboration with her son as "just a little bit of fun".

Victoria said: "I'm so proud of him and how well he's doing. He's been on tour in the U.S. and in London.

"It's his time now. So fun, I'm so proud of him, so proud of him. So that's just a little bit of fun between me and him, nothing more."

Cruz, who has carved out a music career for himself with his rising band The Breakers, sparked speculation his mother could make a musical comeback after sharing the snap of her in the studio.

He wrote on Instagram: "Yeah we got posh back in the studio."

Cruz has spent the past year building his own profile, releasing the EP Wear and Tear in August, and performing at Reading and Leeds, Lollapalooza and a run of headline shows.

He and his band are on tour with The Reytons across the UK and Ireland, after starting the run in Dublin on October 9.
