Scott Wolf and family not in an 'awful dark place'

Scott Wolf doesn't want people to think he and his family are in an "awful dark place" despite his marital struggles.

The Party of Five actor filed for divorce from Kelley Wolf last June, and just a few days later she was placed on an involuntary "5150" psychiatric hold at a Utah hospital due to a friend's concern for her mental health, but last month, the former couple were seen enjoying time with their kids Jackson, 16, Miller, 13, and 11-year-old Lucy at Universal Studios in Los Angeles.

And while Scott hasn't confirmed if he and Kelley, 49, are working to reconcile, the 57-year-old star believes nothing matters more than the fact the family all love one another.

Scott told People magazine: "While I would never have wanted anything to have been made public, I guess it just felt like our family deserved to have things not just sit in some kind of awful dark place in terms of perception.

"While the work we're all doing is really the only thing that really matters, it had been made public. While it's impossible to go into any real detail about much of any of it, I love all of those four people and all of those four people love each other. And so that's really what matters most."

After the Wolf family were seen at Universal Studios, the Doc actor explained he and Kelley - who he previously sought a restraining order against - were "healing".

He told People last month: "We are healing. We are committed to being honest, authentic, and loving to ourselves, to each other, and for our children. We thank everyone for their love and support."

A source close to the family added: "As always, these two are being so loving about this entire process.

"Although there is no way to know the future of their relationship yet, they remain committed to loving each other and their family, with their children being put before everything else, like always."

Scott admitted in August that the situation between the pair was "incredibly difficult and contentious".

He said in a statement: "[My] continued hope is to have this most difficult chapter of our family's lives remain as private as possible, however, the well being of my children is at stake, and that will always be my priority.

"There are some significant challenges that are making our situation incredibly difficult and contentious, and it is tragic for all involved.

"I was informed of some deeply disturbing and entirely false allegations that were made about me by my estranged wife."

Kelley was later arrested and charged with harassing Scott and subsequently revealed she would be going to rehab.

She said in court: "I have informed everyone that needs to know, I will be attending a [treatment facility] starting on September 12.

"This is what was asked of me by both Bart Johnson and Scott Wolf now for six months -- all I wanted to do was leave a marriage.

"I am excited to go [into treatment]. I'm looking forward to it. My brother is taking me. It's fantastic. It's a great place. I recommended it all the time as a mental health professional myself, so September 12, I will be there for a month. I hope that helps."

However, she checked out shortly afterwards but at the end of September, a judge issued a court-ordered minimum 60-day involuntary psychiatric hold during which she is required to remain on prescribed medication.

In mid-October, Kelley was transferred to a different mental health facility for the remainder of her treatment.

A court in Utah later granted Scott's oral request to dismiss the temporary protective order against Kelley. The case was then dismissed and protective orders issued have been declared null and void.
