'I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER'

Rated R for bloody horror violence, language throughout, some sexual content and brief drug use.

What it’s about: A group of friends are wracked by guilt after a terrible accident and start receiving ominous anonymous notes.

The kid attractor factor: Teens will be drawn to the slasher about young friends.

Good lessons/bad lessons: Maybe just go to the police in the first place.

Violence: Bloody and brutal slashings and beatings at the hands of the hooked killer.

Language: Swearing throughout.

Sex: A couple of sex scenes (no nudity).

Drugs: Onscreen marijuana use.

Parents’ advisory: Too violent for kids — OK for teens.

Rated R for strong violence, some grisly images, language, and graphic nudity.

What it’s about: A small New Mexico town and its troubled sheriff face turmoil during the confluence of the COVID-19 pandemic and the Black Lives Matter movement.

The kid attractor factor: This is an adult drama — not much appeal for kids.

Good lessons/bad lessons: There is a heart of darkness at the core of America.

Violence: Extreme bloody violence and killing — shooting, stabbing, etc.

Language: Swearing

Sex: References to sexual abuse, sexual references, graphic male nudity.

Drugs: None

Parents’ advisory: Too mature for kids. OK for teens.
